Welcome to the Town of Eddington, Maine’s Fire Department page. The Eddington Fire Department provides fire protection, emergency response, and public safety services to the Town of Eddington and surrounding communities through mutual aid and service agreements. This page includes information about department operations, staffing, emergency contact details, and the services provided to protect the safety and well-being of residents and visitors.
The Eddington Fire Department was organized in 1974 by the citizens of Eddington. The Department provides services to the Town of Eddington and is contracted to provide services to the Town of Clifton. The Department operates out of one station and maintains seven major pieces of equipment. This includes 2 engines, a tanker, a brush/utility truck, a non-transporting rescue, a UTV, a boat, and a traffic control/rehab shelter trailer.

The Department has 4 career Firefighter/EMTs, 20 paid-on-call personnel, and 1 Live-In Student from Eastern Maine Community College. The Eddington Fire Department is dispatched by Penobscot Regional Communications Center. Northern Light Medical Transport provides ambulance service to Eddington and Clifton residents. In 2025, the Eddington Fire Department responded to 564 calls.
